The history of Suolahdenwallila:
An Art Nouveau gem in the middle of Finland
Suolahdenwallila is full of history. Its main building was designed by architect Yrjö Blomstedt in 1912 for the use of Central Finland College. As a study building, the building was later used by the Humanist University of Applied Sciences and the Koskela settlement. Both general education and vocational training have been implemented in the premises. Over the years, it has also provided a framework for continuing professional education.
In its architecture, Suolahdenwallila represents Art Nouveau. It is Finland's largest Art Nouveau wooden building.
